Call for Board and Commission Applicants
Periodically, the City has openings on Boards and Commissions that serve the community. Public service is voluntary, affording participants the opportunity to help shape their community in areas that interest them.
Upper Arlington City Council invites interested residents to donate their time and expertise to the community by serving on a City Board or Commission, with applications currently being accepted for:
- Board of Health - Meets the second Wednesday of every other month to establish policy and direct the public health activities for the residents of Upper Arlington. Scheduled appointment date: November 22, 2010.
- City Tree Commission - Meets the first Tuesday of every month, to determine and make recommendations to City Council regarding the City's comprehensive street tree program. Scheduled appointment date: September 27, 2010.
- Civil Service Commission - Meets the second Tuesday every other month, to prescribe, amend and enforce civil service rules for employees of the City. This Commission also hears appeals from employees within the classified service. Scheduled appointment date: October 11, 2010.
- Cultural Arts Commission - Meets the first Wednesday of each month to advise and support Staff in its mission to provide and promote a diverse, lively, accessible arts environment that enriches the quality of life of the community. Scheduled appointment date: August 23, 2010
- Neighborhood Lighting Utility Board - Meets quarterly to monitor the design, operation, maintenance and inspection of the City's neighborhood lights. Scheduled appointment date: October 25, 2010.
