How do I switch activities once I've already registered for an Activity Guide class or program?
This cannot be done online. The first step in switching an activity would be to call the Upper Arlington Parks and Recreation division at (614) 583-5300. A staff member can assist you in switching activities. Please have ready the name of both the activity being dropped and the activity that you wish to enroll. Having the activity number on hand is not necessary, but is much appreciated in completing the switch.

I want to volunteer to clean up the parks. Who should I contact?
Volunteer forms are available to fill out on the Upper Arlington Website. Volunteering is event-based and will occur on specific dates. Fill out your name and information and a member of the Parks and Rec. staff will contact you with an available event.

How do I know how many days of camp I have left on my card?
Our online registration system will tell you how many days are left. You can ask a camp counselor at your designated day camp to look this up for you when checking a child in/out or you can contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (614) 583-5300
When is the Fourth of July Parade?
The parade is held on July 4th
Can I rent the Sand Volleyball Courts/Ballfields/Shelter Houses? How much does is the cost to rent?
Sand volleyball courts are available for rent by calling the Parks & Recreation Office at (614) 583-5300 Located at Reed Road Park by the shelter house. $10 per two-hour use. Available for use 7 a.m.-11 p.m. Athletic fields are available for rent beginning mid-April, by calling Mac Kinney at (614) 583-5057. Shelter houses at Thompson, Fancyburg, and Reed Road parks are available to individuals and organizations by rental only.
Can I rent the Barn Online?
The Amelita Mirolo Barn is not available online for reservation. Contact Michael Pollack at (614) 583-5330 or [email protected] for reservations.
What is the Dog on a Leash Policy?
Dogs may be off-leash after 8 PM and before 8 AM during Daylight Savings Time. During Eastern Standard Time, dogs may be off-leash before 8 AM and after 5 PM. Dogs must be under the control of their owners at all times.
Where can I find the Fitness Trails for the Parks?
All larger parks feature paved multi-use pathways for walkers, joggers, rollerbladers, etc. Mileage for these pathways is listed on the maps below. In addition, Thompson Park includes assorted fitness station equipment spaced along the path.
Where can I find a map of the City of Upper Arlington?
An downloadable street map is available here on the UA website (see the link below). Printed copies are also available at the Municipal Services Center (3600 Tremont Road).

Daily admission is also an option for all three of our outdoor pools. Reed Road Water Park Weekdays - $10 Weekends/Holidays - $12 Children 2 yrs & under FREE Devon Pool and Tremont Pool Weedays - $5 Weekends/Holidays - $7 Children 2 yrs & under FREE
How much are Season Pool Passes and what dates are included?
Upper Arlington city pools offer both residential and non-residential season passes. Prices are less expensive for residence. The pools offer a Junior, Individual, Senior Individual, small family, and large family-pass for the season. All outdoor pools are open from June 5th – August 16th during the Regular season. Devon Pool and Reed Road Water Park are open from August 17th – September 2nd during the back to school season. Devon Pool is the last pool open from September 2nd-14th. Prices vary depending on the package.
Are Season Pool Passes prorated for mid-season?
Pool passes are not prorated.
If my child passes swim sessions, can they enroll into the next session of lessons?
Enrollment into the next session of swim lessons is dependent upon the availability of open positions. Your child may sign up for lessons if an opening is available.
Are there private swim lessons available?
Individual lifeguards at the pools coordinate private swim lessons. If interested stop by the front desk of any of the pools to schedule private swim lessons.
Are camps and swim lessons available if it rains?
In the event of rain, camps and swim lessons will not be canceled. If lightning is spotted by lifeguards, the pool will be evacuated and will partake in a 30 minute delay beginning from the last sighting. Prolonged delays could result in a rescheduling. Camps can meet indoors.
I want to transfer swim lessons, but they have already started. What can I do?
Refer to the pool the lessons are taking place – they are the ones in possession of the rosters once lessons have started. The phone numbers for all Upper Arlington pools can be found in this FAQ. Once lessons are started, we do not give refunds or credits.
If it is raining, are the pools open?
In the event of rain, the pools will remain open during their regular operating hours. If lightning is spotted, the pool is evacuated for a 30 minute period for safety – this does not close the pool.
Do you have an Indoor Pool?
Upper Arlington Parks and Recreation does not have an indoor pool. The Department does use the High School natatorium. The indoor pool is only available for swim meets and Sunday Swim lessons. Sunday Swim lessons are for children of 4 years of age and older.

What is a Recreational (Rec) Waiver and why do I need one?
The Recreational (Rec) Waiver is a liability waiver for all children under the age of 18. Recreation Waivers are required (one per child) to register into a camp or activity and are good for one year after the date of the submission. Waivers must be submitted before the beginning of the event. This waiver can be completed online or in person at the Parks and Recreation Department.
Can I post signs; hang banners, ribbons, etc. in the parks?
Per CO 907.06: "Unless specifically authorized by the city manager, no person shall intentionally damage, cut, carve, transplant or remove any public tree or shrub; attach any rope, wire, nails, advertising posters or other contrivance to any tree or shrub, allow any gaseous liquid, or solid substance which is harmful to such trees or shrubs to come in contact with them; or set fire or permit fire to burn when such fire or the heat thereof will injure any portion of any public tree or shrub." The Park & Forestry crew routinely removes such items during regular maintenance, mowing, and trash removal. Items removed also include abandoned chairs, athletic equipment, water bottles, bikes, and other items left in city parks. If the items removed have obvious value, they are retained are the Public Service Center for 30 days and can be retrieved during normal business hours.
