As sure as the emergence of daffodils in springtime, fall in UA brings with it a proliferation of election yard signs. With eight candidates running for four City Council seats, two School Board seats, the Schools’ issue, plus numerous other regional candidates and issues on the November 7 ballot, this is a particularly sign-heavy year.

So as the election ends, what to do with all those signs? Our Code Compliance Office can help.

Staff will be making the rounds of the community in the ensuing days to remove any signs placed in the public rights-of-way, and will be taking them to SWACO’s annual political sign recycling event, scheduled for Saturday, November 11. But you can also bring any signs from your yard to us for Code Compliance to take to the drop-off event—just be sure to have them to the Municipal Services Center, 3600 Tremont Road, by the end of the day Friday.

Please note, Friday is a City holiday, so we are asking residents to place signs by the purple bench at our back door on the Kenny Road side of our building.

If you miss the opportunity to bring signs to us, you can take them directly to the SWACO event, scheduled from 8-11 a.m., Saturday, November 11, at the Bill McDonald Athletic Complex, 4990 Olentangy River Road—which is just south of Bethel Road. Click here for details.
