Last winter, the Upper Arlington Commission of Aging and STAY UA piloted a winter program for older adults in Upper Arlington. Snow Angels aims to connect seniors who are less able to take care of their property than they once were with volunteers who are on standby to help shovel snow from driveways and sidewalks.

Fortunately for all, we had a very mild winter last year and volunteers were only called into action a few times, but who knows what this coming winter has in store for us.

To make sure the Snow Angels team is prepared for all manner of winter weather, the call is already out for volunteers. If you are able to help—as an individual, family—or as part of a community service group effort, you will be matched with a nearby senior for the season.

What a great way to give back and gain a new friendship or two along the way.
