Northam Park Tennis Courts

The City of Upper Arlington owns and operates the Northam Park Tennis Courts, located in Northam Park. The facility features 12 Har-Tru courts, unique for municipal tennis courts and touted by many as "the best soft-surface courts in Ohio."  Court play is available on a first-come, first-served basis with singles play limited to one hour and doubles play limited to 1.5 hours.

The 2018 tennis season kicks off with the annual Northam Park Tennis Open House on Saturday, April 28 from 1-5 p.m. The tennis season runs from Sunday, April 29 through Sunday, October 28. The Northam Park Tennis Courts will be closed July 4 for the annual fireworks display. Courts will reopen on July 5.

Members and guests are required to check in at the Northam Park tennis office each time they play.

Severe Weather
If lightning, thunder or severe weather is in the area, the Northam Park Tennis Courts will be evacuated.  Patrons must exit the facility and seek shelter for their safety.  When there is a thunderstorm the facility will remain closed until 30 minutes after the last lightning or thunder if the courts are playable.  When there is a National Weather Service severe storm warning the facility will remain closed until the severe storm warning expires and courts are playable.  Refunds are not available to daily admissions during severe weather; however, rain checks will be issued to a guest who has been at the facility less than one (1) hour.  When requesting a rain check the guest must provide a receipt as proof of payment of the daily admission fee.

The Upper Arlington City Schools owns and maintains tennis courts available for public play at the following schools:

  • Hastings Middle School - 1850 Hastings Lane - 4 hard, lighted courts
  • Jones Middle School - 2100 Arlington Avenue - 4 hard, lighted courts 
  • Upper Arlington High School - 1650 Ridgeview Road - 10 hard, lighted courts

Availability of these tennis courts may be limited during specific times due to lessons, practices or matches.
