Yard Waste Collection & Drop Off

Curb-side Yard Waste Collection

  • Yard waste is picked up on your regular Solid Waste collection day. Click here for the collection schedule.
  • Place yard waste in approved biodegradable yard waste bags, bundles or refuse cans. No plastic bags are accepted. Yard waste mixed with refuse is not accepted.
  • If you place your yard waste in a trash can, label it as "Yard Waste."
  • Containers should not exceed 50 pounds in weight or 35 gallons in capacity. Containers should be solely dedicated for use as yard waste containers, should be marked as such, and placed curbside without lids - this will enable refuse workers to quickly identify which containers have yard waste in them. If refuse is mixed in with yard waste, the contents of the container will be left by the yard waste crews for refuse crews to collect.
  • Bundles cannot exceed five feet in length or 50 pounds in weight and should be tied with biodegradable string.

Yard Waste Drop-Off (Ohio Mulch)

UA Residents may drop off acceptable yard waste free-of-charge at the Bill Holbrook Regional Composting Facility, which is operated by Ohio Mulch and located at 4120 Roberts Road. For current facility hours, please visit the Ohio Mulch website: or call (614) 921-9330.

The City of Upper Arlington has a special relationship with Ohio Mulch that allows UA residents to drop off yard waste free-of-charge, regardless of the size of the material. All other Franklin County residents are charged to drop off items larger than 1/4" in diameter. Therefore, you may asked to provide proof of UA residence to avoid paying the fee. Professional landscapers are always required to pay a fee to drop off yard waste, regardless of residency.

If you have further questions regarding the yard waste facility or Ohio Mulch, please call (614) 921-9330.
