2010 State of the City Address Event Program
City Manager Speech
The 2010 State of the City Address, held Monday, January 25 was a huge success. Our guests enjoyed the opportunity to meet first-hand with community leaders, and for a recap from City Manager Barney on community achievements from 2009 and a look ahead to the New Year.

Community Fair
The evening featured a Community Fair, with refreshments and exhibits from City departments and local service organizations, providing an opportunity for residents to meet with community leaders and staff during one convenient forum.  Our thanks to the following participants:

State of the City Address
City Manager Virginia Barney made her annual State of the City Address to the community, with highlights from 2009 and a look ahead to 2010.  Click here to read her address.  You can listen to the Address courtesy of WUAR Radio as part of our February City Insight news show, scheduled to air at 10 a.m. Friday, February 5 and again at 7 p.m. Sunday, February 7.  The show will also be available in the program archives.

2009 Community Awards
No State of the City Address is complete without its annual Community Awards, recognizing those citizens who have made significant contributions to our City in the past year.  This year's nominees and recipients were extremely impressive, with our congratulations going to the following winners:

• Community Enrichment - Bill and Bobbi Richards, Co-Directors of Honor Flight
• Community Safety - Jones Middle School Walk-to-School Event
• Super Senior - Sue Knell
• Youth - Barrington Elementary Fourth Graders, "Beat Michigan! Beat Cancer! Racing to Beat Ovarian Cancer" 5K run and one-mile fun run.
  

2011 State of the City Address
