City Manager's Office Overview The City Manager's Office provides the overall executive leadership for the organization, and policy guidance to the City's elected officials. The City Manager provides overall management of the City's departments, the support services necessary to maintain them, and the presentation of the City's budget.
The Office is comprised of the City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Community Affairs Director, Executive Secretary, and Community Affairs Assistant.
Assistant City ManagerThe Assistant City Manager provides direct support to the City Manager, and works on special projects such as updating the City's Master Plan, exploring shared services agreement options with other governmental agencies, contract negotiations, Staff transitions, Solid Waste privatization, and sustainability projects. The Assistant City Manager also manages facilities maintenance, works with department heads to oversee and guide them in their execution of assigned projects and programs, and addresses any arising resident grievances or issues that cannot be resolved through regular channels within the organization.
Community Affairs DirectorThe role of Community Affairs is to communicate all facets of Upper Arlington's local government with its key publics - namely residents, local businesses, City employees and community leaders - using various methods that include local news articles, various print materials, website and social media, etc. The director provides public relations and marketing advice and support to all City departments, and assists with the strategic planning and public relations efforts on various special projects throughout the year. Additionally, the director serves as the primary liaison with local media representatives.
